LX800 Color Label Printer -
The Primera LX800 is the state of the art digital in-plant color label printer. Introduced in November 2004, users are quickly finding that it gives them the best value and best output quality when compared to the competition.
Does an in-plant color label printer make sense? It depends. If the contents on your labels rarely change, or if you only change or add variable information such as the product name, number, price and barcode, it probably makes sense to purchase fully or partially pre-printed labels. On the other hand there are many cases where an in-plant digital color label printer is a simple solution to a complicated problem. Below are a few examples:
Short runs---if you need a small number of labels for many different products it makes sense to print them as you need them. Small orders of custom labels cost a fortune and keeping the right labels in inventory is a nightmare. Once you save your labels on a file on your computer, simply print them as you need them.
Identify style or product---A color bar is often used to help the consumer differentiate among sizes or styles. With the LX800 it's easy to apply any color bars you want to your label.
Chemical drum labeling---Most chemicals require color coded labels to indicate the level of danger and intended use. This unit is perfect if your chemicals and labeling needs continue to change.
Until the introduction of the LX800 the only in-plant digital color-on demand printer was the VIP VP2020 unit from VIP Color. The comparison between the two printers is striking.
